How to play Pata

Pata Puzzle Rules

  • Black Areas: All black cells must be connected into a single region.

  • 2x2 Restriction: No 2x2 area in the grid can be filled in completely with black cells.

  • Number Clues: Cells with numbers (clue cells) must be left empty. The number indicates the number of consecutive white cells in the eight surrounding cells.

  • Multiple Number Clues: If there are multiple numbers in a clue cell, the blocks of white cells represented by these numbers must be separated by at least one black cell.

  • Question Marks: Question marks can replace numbers in clue cells and represent any non-zero positive integer.

Pata puzzles require logical reasoning to fill in the blanks step by step. Observe the number clues and combine them with the "no 2x2 black area" and multiple number separation rules to gradually determine the positions of black and white cells. As more blanks are filled in, more information can be obtained for reasoning, and eventually the puzzle can be completed.
